Every local authority has to have some way for children in care to have their say, its usually called a Children in Care Council (CICC)
In Bracknell Forest our CICC is called SiLSiP (Say it Loud Say it Proud)
It’s the voice of all children who are in care or leaving care. A group of looked after young people come together once a month to discuss issues about care that are important to them and try and make changes for the better.
They suggest ideas and projects that can improve services for all children in care so the council can make sure it’s doing the best it can for children and young people.
SiLSiP members meet regularly with Senior Managers to make sure their ideas go straight to the top.
Meeting notes and meeting dates will be here soon.
